The fonds contains black and white photographs from Emma Whittome's private collection. They date from 1908 to the 1950's. Most of the photographs were taken in the town of Melfort and its surrounding area. The two photographs originally belonging to John Fedde were likely taken in the Melfort area, but this cannot be confirmed. Over half of the photographs are of buildings and streets in the town of Melfort including the Lady Minto Hospital, Broadway School, and local churches. Other subjects include the students and teachers from the Naisberry S.D. #788, Belgrave S.D #2587, Prescott S.D. #3953, and Melfort High School.

The fonds contains both color and black and white photographs as well as color slides. All of the images are of events and locations in Melfort, Saskatchewan. The images all belonged to William McCosh's personal collection.

The fonds contains seven colour photographs taken during Melfort, Saskatchewan's 1980 "Melfort Reunion, Celebrate Saskatchewan 1905-1980" events. Subjects include the stage at the Melfort Agricultural Society grounds and community organization floats in the parade, and feature a number of Melfort city councillors serving during 1980.

Melfort Historical Committee fonds
The fonds contains 80 black and white photographs. Some of the images were collected by the Melfort Historical Committee from local individuals for their pioneer artifact displays. Other photographs were taken by either the Melfort Historical Committee or the Melfort Agricultural Society. All of the images were taken in Melfort, Saskatchewan and surrounding areas between 1906 and the 1950's. The photographs document a wide variety of subjects including: Melfort Agricultural Society events like farm camps, parades, exhibitions, and competitions. Other subjects include Melfort schools, businesses, hockey teams, and locations as well as farming activities and weddings.

Many cars are parked on both sides of the street and a large number of people are walking around on the street and sidewalk. The road is dirt and the sidewalk is paved. Lights and pennant flags are strung up from building to building across Main Street (perhaps a parade)
