Bio/Historical Note: Dr. Claire E. Card earned her DVM from the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine (1986) and her PhD (Physiology) from Cornell University (1990). Dr. Card is involved in research, teaching and clinical service relating to animal reproduction (theriogenology). She is the past president of the American College of Theriogenologists, and past board member of the Society for Theriogenology and the Theriogenology Foundation. Dr. Card was the first woman to chair the University Council at the University of Saskatchewan. She has been active in advancing One Health through international interdisciplinary programs, work in northern Saskatchewan and through Veterinarians without Borders. Dr. Card has directed a VWB project in rural Uganda since 2007 helping HIV-AIDS affected families improve their livelihoods. She is a professor in the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences (2021).
