Printed on a piece of paper stored with photo: "Deltra Eamon Almeida, once a student of Mrs. McKenzie, is a graduate of the Royal Conservatory and the University of Toronto. Her first big break came with a principle for the Tennessee Ernie Ford weekly TV show which she held for five years. She has appeared in Canada, Japan, USA, Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, England, Greece, Italy and Australia, captivating audiences and critics alike with her charming presence and lustrous voice. Her credits include Grammy Award winning album of Charles Ives songs and other recordings for RCA, Capitol, Columbia, and Orion & Naxos Records. She has toured with Danny Kaye, Roger Wagner Chorale, and Victor Borge and has starred in many light opera productions including "Carousel", "Brigadoon", "Oklahoma", "My Fair Lady", "Showboat", and others. Deltra who now resides in New York City, has been fortunate to travel world-wide with her late husband Laurindo Almeida who was a world renowned guitarist in his own right."
