Biographical history
Genevieve Swanson Shantz was married to Max Shantz. They lived in Moose Jaw from 1936-1942. They lived at 1054 Clifton Ave. in 1936, 170 Ominica St. W in 1937 and 1109 Alder St NE from 1938-1942. Max worked at Robin Hood Flour Mills. They had two daughters, Geraldine and Sandra (Cindy).
Custodial history
Nancy K. Williams, the niece of Genevieve Shantz, mailed the booklet to Rodney McLean at the Moose Jaw Chamber of Commerce to donate to the Festival of Words. Gary Hyland, of the Festival of Words, donated the booklet to the archive in 1999.
Scope and content
This fonds contains one booklet entitled ‘Verses for You’. The booklet was published by the Moose Jaw Writer’s Club. Shantz wrote poems that appear on pages 7, 22, and 27.
