Biographical history
Samuel Getty was born March 17, 1829 in Northern Ireland. He died November 17, 1899. Catherine Kinney was born April 27, 1827 in Northern Ireland. She died November 4, 1921. They married on September 15, 1854, and sailed to Albany, New York . They eventually settled in the Archydal district in Saskatchewan.
Robert McCartney was born December 5, 1805 in Scotland. He died June 9, 1879 in Seaforth Tuckersmith, Ontario. Sarah Broadfoot was born July 12, 1805 in Scotland. She died April 4, 1880 in Seaforth Tuckersmith, Ontario. They married March 4, 1831 in Dalrymple-Ayrshire, Scotland.
Valentine Ridley was born in approximately 1788 in Trottiscliffe, England. Elizabeth Butler was born in 1793 in Snodland, England. They married April 6, 1816 in Aylesford, England. Valentine Ridley died in approximately 1860. It is not known when Elizabeth died. They both died in Trottiscliffe, England.
John Rothwell was born in approximately 1891 in Coolcullen, Ireland. He died August 10, 1819. Elizabeth Fennel was born in approximately 1795 in Ireland. It is not known when she died. They were married in approximately 1812.

Scope and content
This fonds contains genealogical information regarding the descendants of Valentine Ridley and Elizabeth Butler, Robert McCartney and Sarah Broadfoot, Samuel Getty and Catherine Kinney, and John Rothwell and Elizabeth Fennell. Grant G. Ridley undertook the research and compilation of genealogical information pertaining to his ancestors. This work had originally been started by his grandmother Isabella Rathwell (née Getty). He completed his work in April 2014.
