General note

This photo can be found on the seventh page of the Indian Head photo booklet (IHP). The Indian Head History Book (p354-355) says that William Mair Douglas and his wife, Mary Ann (Webster) Douglas built a beautiful large brick farmhouse in 1898 "just east of the Experimental Farm". As of 2021, the house still stands at 50.5413, -103.6279. Mr. Douglas was a member of Indian Head town council (1887-1889) and was elected reeve of the RM of Indian Head in 1902.

General note

A slightly different photograph of the house (IHM20210214C - digital only), showing a barn/stable in the background and coloured as a CPR postcard is inscribed "Farm House, Indian Head, Assiniboia, Canada Canadian Pacific Railway" with "Frank Douglass (sic)" hand-printed on it (SHO number indianhead_32623.jpg)
