Displays and Exhibitions - Crafts

A view of the display of "Indian Handicrafts." The items, created by La Ronge Handicrafts (Saskatchewan), include beadwork, leatherwork, and basketry, and were loaned by the Trading Post. They were displayed in the Engineering Show, Engineering Building, University of Saskatchewan, 1970. Two copies of the 12.5 x 17 cm image.

Inuit Art - Print - Grazing Musk-Ox

This print, by Kalvak, was purchased by the Institute for Northern Studies, and reproduced in its 1967 Christmas card, by permission of the Holman Island Cooperative, NWT. See Kupsch, W.O., "The True North Strong And Free," Green and White, Summer 1968. (See also INS photo file 150.)

Inuit Housing

A house at Rankin Inlet, Northwest Territories. The snow is piled nearly to the roof; a path through the snowbank has been shovelled to allow access to the door. A tiny corner of a window can be seen behind the snowbank. Taken [May?] 1969.
