Bob Fink fonds

This fond contains mostly textual material, specifically copies of the books and articles Bob Fink wrote over his lifetime, mainly in regards to the evolution and origin of music and other topics related to music. The other half of the collection is copies of sheet music which he composed, mainly under the series name “Some New Old Music” as well as the opera Lysistrata. It has been published individually as well as in collections. There are also some recordings on a variety of media (CD, cassette, and reel to reel) which appear to contain recordings of Bob Fink playing his compositions.

Bob Fink kept an extensive website filled with the articles he wrote on a wide variety of topics. It also
contains links to articles he collected that were of interest to him and related to his areas of study. It

: The majority of this fonds is material related to the research for Waiser’s published works. It contains material relating to Waiser’s academic and writing career including instructional material; assessments and referential material; and research and publication activities. The 2023 accrual contains material relating to the significant public recognition of Waiser’s body of work, including his investiture into the Order of Canada; his Governor-General’s Award for Non-Fiction; the Governor-General’s History Award for Popular Media; the Saskatchewan Book Award for Non-Fiction; the Cheryl and Henry Kloppenburg Award for Literary Excellence; the JB Tyrrell Medal (Royal Society); and the Clio Prize Lifetime Achievement Award (Canadian Historical Association), among others. Much of the work included here was created following Waiser’s retirement from the University of Saskatchewan; and includes material relating to his interest in making history accessible to a wide audience.

Fonds consists of personal, professional, and business records generated by Winnipeg printmaker and screen shop operator Bill Lobchuk. The records are arranged in ten series: Appointment Books (1979-1988); Correspondence (ca. 1973-1989); Financial Records; Personal (1972-1984); General Files (1955-1980s); Grand Western Canadian Screen Shop (1968-1984); Newspaper Clippings (1971-1988); Photographs and Negatives (1966-1980s); Professional Organizations (1974-1987); Publications (1972-1989); and Slides (1970-80). Of particular interest are Lobchuk's extensive personal and professional correspondence with artists, art galleries and arts organizations, and business records of the Grand Western Canadian Screen Shop which include correspondence, financial records and other documents relating to the establishment and operation of the shop. Also noteworthy are publications, articles, exhibition catalogues, invitations, posters, publicity materials, photographs, transparencies, and slides relating to Lobchuk's own work, and to products of the Screen Shop, as well as files documenting his involvement with various professional organizations.

Bill Harding fonds

Fonds consists of personal papers created by agriculturalist, civil servant, international development worker, community activist, and sportsman, William M. Harding. Arranged by Harding in eleven roughly chronological series (Swift Current; Calgary; Hockey; Basketball; Adult Education Division; Department of Agriculture Period; CCF/NDP files; Community Clinic files; Guyana Period; and Liberia Papers), the papers provide selective documentation of his life and activities. Of particular interest are correspondence, reports, clippings, pamphlets, committee files, radio scripts, notes, briefing materials, minutes, and other records relating to his career as a civil servant with the Government of Saskatchewan, first with the Adult Education Division (1945-1946) and then with the Department of Agriculture (1947-1952). Records relating to Harding's work as Secretary of the Royal Commission on Agriculture and Rural Life (1952-1957), The Local Government Continuing Committee (1958-1961) include reports, a discussion handbook, speaking assignments and notes, pamphlets, correspondence, and other documents. Political materials, including election platforms, publicity materials, canvassing reports, analysis of election results, surveys, working papers, and correspondence (contains Woodrow Lloyd letters) relate to Harding's organizational and educational work for the CCF/NDP during the 1950s and 1960s, and a small series of pamphlets, statements, reports and published documents provide informatin on the community clinic movement in Regina and Saskatchewan. Also noteworthy is a substantial series of correspondence, reports, meeting materials, speeches, press clippings, pamphlets and other papers pertaining to his United Nations development work in Guyana (1964-1967), and in Liberia (1961-1962). Harding's early life and career in Swift Current are represented through articles, historical material, lecture notes, correspondence, clippings, pamphlets and reports from his work at the Swift Current Experimental Station in the 1930's, and by historical material on the Kinetic Club. A small clutch of clippings, publicity materials and documents concerning the Kinsmen arise from his time with the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede (1942-1944), and his sporting activities as a hockey official in Alberta and as an organizer of basketball in Swift Current and Regina are also documented. A detailed personal history prepared by Bill Harding in 1990 is also included.
