Basal coal of Ravenscrag (Paleocene correlative of Fort Union) burnt to white ash; shale brick red. Underlying the coal is green sand of Frenchman formation (Upper Cretaceous).
Small sand ridge formed by animals burrowing through snow south of Knollys, Sask. See Journal of Geology, V. 50, p.79: Cast of earth formed by pocket gopher. Dirt removed in the process of digging a ground tunnel was transferred to a tunnel in the snow, later exposed when the snow melted.
