This collection contains material obtained by the Committee on Historical Records, established at the University in the early 1940's to obtain historical documents and reminiscences from individuals throughout the province. Although many responses are brief and contain only suggested names of people to be contacted, some replies provide detailed accounts of early settlement and community development. The fonds also contains brief family histories from a class in 1943.

The material in this fonds documents Berry’s research, writing and teaching career at the University of Western Ontario and University of Saskatchewan, as well as work undertaken on behalf of their Faculty Associations.

The fonds primarily consists of material about Max Jacob compiled and organized by Maria Green, based on research in libraries and archives in North America and Europe. This includes correspondence, writings by and about Jacob, drawings by Jacob, works with references to Jacob, and Green’s index cards including an extensive set of subject-based cards. There is also some material relating to Green’s work (edited collections, articles, awards, etc.).
Where possible, the order established by Green has been maintained, based on available file lists and numbering on file folders. The fonds is organized as follows:

This fonds contains personal correspondence, working papers, articles, manuscripts, research material, and lecture notes. Much of the material deals with Dr. Timlin's work with the Social Science Research Council of Canada (SSRCC) and her research on immigration policies from 1896 to 1960. Included in the research material are copies or microform of various primary sources, such as Sessional papers (1892-1895), the Laurier fonds, and the Sifton fonds.

This fonds consists of material relating to Allen's career including his autobiography, correspondence, clippings, honours, and memorials.

This fonds reflects Dr. Fowke's career as a researcher and professor at the University of Saskatchewan.

This fonds reflects Holmlund’s interest in the philosophy of education, his varied career at the University of Saskatchewan, and his concern for an equitable society. It is particularly valuable as a source for university history, specifically for the period of Leo Kristjanson’s tenure; and for issues surrounding health delivery, education, and the College of Medicine; the development of computer / IT services on campus; and First Nations educational opportunities. As a reflection of planning at a post-secondary U-15 institution, this fonds is particularly strong, notably for the materials surrounding the Issues and Options project.

This fonds contains materials primarily relating to Miquelon's career with the University of Saskatchewan. Miquelon created the first Canadian history course at the University designed for Native students; and taught numerous courses on early Canadian history and francophone Canada. These identify Miquelon as a conscientious lecturer and innovative teacher. Materials relating to Miquelon's published articles and books, as well as his unpublished conference presentations, are included. His Society and Conquest brought together in English translation many articles by French Canadian historians, making their contribution to historiography accessible to many Anglophone historians and students for the first time. His correspondence, both as student and colleague to some of the more influential Canadian historians, is of interest; as are the materials relating to University and departmental administration.

This collection contains the material kept by Professor Deverell in his capacity as Secretary for the Quance Lecture Series. It includes minutes of the committee meetings, correspondence with lecturers, and an almost complete set of both the manuscripts and the published lectures. Missing are the lectures by D.H. Russell (1953), G.E. Flower (1964), and J.R. Kidd (1966) (see University Lectures). Lecturers included J.G. Althouse, ME. LaZerte, W.P. Percival, H.L. Campbell, J.P. Gilmour, C.E. Phillips, G.A. Frecker, H.P. Moffatt, W.H. Swift, W.S. Lloyd, Msgr. I. Lussier, R.W.B. Jackson, J.M Paton, S.R. Laycock, J.F. Leddy, W.R. Wees, F. MacKinnon, J.A. Corry, H. Janzen, A. Renaud, C.D. Ovans, and S. Shack.

This fonds contains materials relating to Nikiforuk's career as a professor and Dean of Engineering.

This fonds contains materials relating to Professor Bornstein's teaching, research, and community involvement. In particular, it documents The Structurist.

This fonds contains files relating to the Department of French, including departmental minutes and annual reports; as well as files on the Library Committee, the Curriculum Revision Committee for Arts and Science, and the University Committee on Student Social Activities.

This fonds contains degrees and certificates earned by and awarded to Dr. Andrusyshen.

This fonds consists of materials used, created, and accumulated by Don Cochrane relating to his academic career. It includes University of Saskatchewan administrative and course materials as well as files relating to the organization and operation of the Breaking the Silence Conference and the Certificate in Ecological Education (CERTEE) program. There are also a number of files detailing international study tours organized by Don Cochrane through the College of Education.

This fonds also includes a file of class notes which were created by Lorne Dignean, a student in the College of Education at the University of Saskatchewan from 1950 to 1951. Mr. Dignean was a teacher for over 35 years at schools around Saskatoon. He taught for the most years at Clavet School, where he provided a scholarship in his family name in 1999. Lorne Dignean died in 2018.

This fonds contains materials relating to Dr. Harding's scholarly work, including his thorough preparation and background work for his teaching; his correspondence with colleagues; his articles and conference papers; and drafts and notes for the Coleridge "Notebooks."
