Upper member of Whitemud Formation (Upper Cretaceous) at base, overlain unconformably by greenish grey sands and clays of Frenchmen Formation (Upper Cretaceous) and coaly sands of Paleocene Ravenscrag Formation. The coal seam at the base of the Ravenscrag is the Ferris Seam. Type section of Ravenscrag Formation at Ravenscrag Butte quarry, Ravenscrag, Saskatchewan. May, 1964.
