The fonds consists of 78 b&w photographs taken in the Arctic Bay / Pond Inlet region. Several are of people, Inuit and southerners living in Arctic Bay at the time, and community life in the 1940's. In addition there are 69 col. negatives of which 20 are also in print form and 40 colour prints without negatives, taken on his trips north in 1986 and 1990. One VHS video tape contains film footage of a trip by snow-machine to the floe edge in late spring traveling on the sea ice, and a hike along the banks of the Salmon River [Akua] in July 1990 taken by Ed himself with his own commentary.

Textual material consists of correspondence; financial records regarding the preparation of the book; research materials on the history of the diocese, the parishes, the religious orders of women and men and the Catholic organizations; notes, drafts and clippings; bibliography, final copy of manuscript, correspondence following publication. The research materials include a number photocopies made from microfilm editions of local newspapers (The Star-Phoenix and The Prairie Messenger). Included in some files are booklets and pamphlets on the history of some of the parishes and religious orders; these materials will be noted in the file list and moved to the pamphlet collection of the Anglin Collection of Canadian Catholic Church History, Shannon Library, St. Thomas More College. Photographs are color slides of parish churches in the Diocese of Saskatoon, photographed by the author 1978-1979. Audiotapes are interviews conducted by the author 1978-1981. II. Series consists of correspondence, photocopied information, notes and drafts and the final version of the article. The fonds contains twelve reprinted black and white photographs with matching negatives from Eleanor Reeder and her brother Clarance McAusland's personal collections. The original photographs date from the 1920's to the 1960's. The photographs were taken Melfort, Saskatchewan and in Okotoks, Alberta. They include images of Melfort View S.D. #121, a Girls Farm Camp, farming activities, grain elevators, and the Melfort Post Office.

Both accounts recall life on a homestead near Bengough, Saskatchewan just after the turn of the century, as well as their terms of service during World War II. The autobiography by Tony Wilson includes several copies of family photographs.

They were scanned at 300 dpi with 16 million colors. The images are of the Maryville S.D #2790 and the Maryville district near Gronlid, Saskatchewan.

St. Thomas More College fonds

This fonds includes material related to the pre-history of the college, and in particular the activities of the Newman Society, which was formed by a group of Catholic laymen, with its major work to be the establishment of a Catholic college at the University of Saskatchewan. Other records are: minutes, reports and correspondence of the Principals/Presidents, the Corporation, the Faculty/Administration Forum, and the student organizations: Newman Club/Centre and St. Thomas More Students Association. Some of the records, including photocopies of relevant documents from other archives, were acquired by then college archivist Fr. Alphonse de Valk during the late 1960s and early 1970s. In cases where de Valk is clearly the compiler, it has been so noted in the file list. Photographs consist of views of the white house (original and expanded), the construction of the stone building in its three phases (1953-1969), interiors, student activities and special events in the college over the years. In most cases the creators of the photographs are unknown.
