Newspaper clippings

File includes newspaper clippings about Emil George Berg or that mention him, including the marriage announcement for George and Ida.

Correspondence

Series consists of correspondence written by Emil George Berg to his wife and son, sympathy letters to Ida Berg after her husband's death, and some correspondence written to George. Series contains three files: Correspondence from George, Sympathy letters, and Miscellaneous correspondence.

Military

Series contains records relating to Emil George Berg's military experience during the First World War, including notification of his medal and his discharge certificate, as well as correspondence written to Ida Berg during the Second World War. Also includes a print of a photograph from Camp Hughes, Manitoba, in 1916 and a photograph of George mounted on a larger background that has the words "For King and Empire" and "United Empire" on it around the Union Jack and Canadian flag. A header, which has been cut off from its original place, includes his name, battalion, and enlistment place and date.

History

Series consists of the marriage certificate of Emil George Berg and Ida Karoline (misspelled Caroline) Andresen as well as a typed history of Emil George Berg, which was possibly copied from another source.

Photographs and drawings

Series consists of 14 photographs and 4 drawings of members of the Swanson family. Most photographs are labelled either on the photograph or had a paper label with it in the original photo album. Drawings are of, presumably, Christian Swanson's parents and Julia (Johanneson) Swanson's parents. Also includes photographs of the paternal and maternal grandparents' homes in Tännäs, Sweden.

Family history

Series consists of a photocopy of the handwritten family history of Christian and Julia Swanson. It was likely written by either Florence or Ida Swanson ca. or in 1986. A portion of it was originally by John William Swanson, Christian and Julia's eldest son, in 1958 but was likely recopied to add to this history.

Scrapbooks

Series consists of three scrapbooks containing textual records, newspaper clippings, and photographs relating to members of the Junior Fortnightly Club and various events. Series contains three files: Memories 1947-1987, Memories 1987-2008, and Anniversary pictures. Many photographs have a legend identifying the people in them.

Chronicles

Series consists of yearly chronicles of the events of the Junior Fortnightly Club for 1947-2003 and 2012-2015 as well as chronicles written for various anniversaries of the Club. Series contains five files: Book 1, Book 2, Book 3, Chronicles 2012-2015, and Anniversary chronicles.

Minutes

Series consists of meeting minutes of the Junior Fortnightly Club. Series contains two files: Minute book and Minutes, Jan. 1, 2000-Dec. 31, 2005.

Junior Fortnightly constitution

Series consists of the Junior Fortnightly Club constitution dated 1949, a 25th anniversary program, as well as programmes indicating the executive, meeting dates, and presentation topics from 1966-1967, 1968-1969 to 1981-1982, 1983-1984 to 1990-1991, 1997-1998, and 2002-2003 to 2004-2005. The original constitution can be found in an envelope on the second page of the Memories 1947-1987 scrapbook.

Series consists of guest books for the Sergeants' Mess and 'B' Squadron 14th Canadian Hussars. Series contains five files: Sgts.' Mess guest book, 1954-1963; Sgts.' Mess guest book, 1964-1976; Sgts.' Mess guest register and members, 1964; 'B' Squadron 14th Canadian Hussars(M) guest book, and Visitors' sign-in register.

Miscellaneous records

Series consists of miscellaneous records relating to the 8th Recce Regiment in some way. Includes notes possibly relating to the regimental history, an identification key for a photograph, newspaper clippings, a photograph, and other unknown textual records.

Audited DSRs 1964 No 1 to 5

Series contains records relating to an audit started in 1963. Includes the findings of an institute inspection of the sergeants' mess and men's canteen in Swift Current on May 1, 1963, and many receipts.

Series consists of records relating to regimental events apart from reunions and the 50th anniversary. Series contains four files: Louvigny, Concerts, Event programs, and Cards and invitations.
