This fonds contains correspondence, memoranda, and reports relating to all aspects of the administration and programs of the Department of History. Also included is correspondence and submissions to the Canadian Journal of History, an academic journal of non-Canadian history published by the department.

The Skwara farm near Borden, Saskatchewan, has remained in the hands of a single family for over 70 years. The majority of that period – over 60 years – is documented in this fonds. In particular, as farmers such as the Skwaras are self-employed, details in income tax and Canadian Wheat Board permit books provide considerable insight into the changing nature of farming practices and the economic reality of farming over time. Blacksmithing costs; beekeeping; the nature of the crops being grown; diversification through livestock; cost (and availability) of transient help; and the number of acres under cultivation all combine to tell not only the personal story of one farm family, but also farming as a business. A plow, purchased in 1945 for $10.50, is replaced in 1950 by one costing $345.00; a tractor in 1967 cost more than a house in 1961.

Correspondence, book reviews, and other writings on Canadian History.

This fonds contains biographical material, including a Paul family history and reminiscences and anecdotes by L.C. Paul, as well as several of his articles. In addition, there is both the manuscript and published version of the History of Extension (1910-1970), and a file on the Retired Faculty Association. The addendum contains clippings and article pertaining to the history of agriculture and agricultural science in Western Canada.

The fonds consists of Dr. Hayter’s research material and notes relating to the history of radiology, radiotherapy, and cancer control, primarily accumulated during the research that culminated in "An Element of Hope".

This fonds contains correspondence, notes, reports, teaching and research materials, and manuscripts and drafts documenting the professional and academic activities of Dr. Mills over the course of his career. Files pertaining to research and writing focus on the areas of psycholinguistics and the history of psychology, including material on eighteenth and early nineteenth century Scottish philosophy and the history of behaviourism. The material on teaching covers topics such as social psychology, experimental design, perception, learning, psycholinguistics, comparative psychology, and history and systems

This fonds contains the research materials gathered by Catherine Littlejohn King as a part of her career as a historian and writer of Metis history, in particular of Saskatchewan and Metis soldiers. It mainly contains drafts of her writing, copies of articles and other secondary sources, interviews, and biographies. There is also material on general indigenous history and issues, as well as indigenous education and some general material related to Canadian history.

This fonds contains year books, attendance books, visitor's registers and minute and account books. The series also contains audio cassettes of the symposium entitled "Emma Lake Artist's Workshop - Community Critics Workshop" (1989).

This fonds documents the professional and academic activities of Dr. Dewar over the course of his career. Files pertaining to research and writing focus on the areas of sports history, including material on Indigenous athletes and athletics, and residential schools, basketball, hockey, and the Olympics. The material on teaching covers topics such as sports history and the philosophy of sport. Also included are student papers collected by Dewar from his and Professor Val Schneider's sports history classes. Many of these student papers deal with a variety of Saskatchewan teams and locales.

This small portion of the collection consists of copies of articles and clippings on prominent Canadian veterinarians, the anniversaries of the OVC over time, notable medical advancements in veterinary medicine and other aspects of the profession's history including artefacts. The books he donated can be found in the library catalogue with a word search of "Rosen Collection of Veterinary Medicine History"

The fonds consists primarily of material relating to Bietenholz's research and writing. In particular, the fonds includes copies of some of his own publications, offprints by others, files (notes, photocopies, etc.) relating to some of his books and papers, offprints and research material relating to Erasmus, and correspondence relating to publishing and research activities, including visits to African and Asian universities.

This fonds contains a history of the Soils department written in 1942, lecture notes, and speeches and addresses given by Professor Mitchell between 1932-1955.

This fonds contains materials primarily relating to Miquelon's career with the University of Saskatchewan. Miquelon created the first Canadian history course at the University designed for Native students; and taught numerous courses on early Canadian history and francophone Canada. These identify Miquelon as a conscientious lecturer and innovative teacher. Materials relating to Miquelon's published articles and books, as well as his unpublished conference presentations, are included. His Society and Conquest brought together in English translation many articles by French Canadian historians, making their contribution to historiography accessible to many Anglophone historians and students for the first time. His correspondence, both as student and colleague to some of the more influential Canadian historians, is of interest; as are the materials relating to University and departmental administration.

This collection contains material obtained by the Committee on Historical Records, established at the University in the early 1940's to obtain historical documents and reminiscences from individuals throughout the province. Although many responses are brief and contain only suggested names of people to be contacted, some replies provide detailed accounts of early settlement and community development. The fonds also contains brief family histories from a class in 1943.

This fonds represents an important resource of secondary material regarding the history, composition, use, proliferation, detection and disposal of chemical and biological weapons and the agencies responsible for their control.
