Bio/Historical Note: Dr. Irwin MacAmmond Hilliard was born 24 March 1911 in Morrisburg, Ontario and attended medical school at the University of Toronto. He was chief of medicine, Toronto Western Hospital; first clinical chair, Department of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan; professor, University of Toronto. Dr. Hilliard [retired in 1990]. Dr. Hilliard and his wife Agnes served as United Church of Canada missionaries at Foochow, Sichuan Province, China from 1938-1944. Their elder two children were born there. Irwin Hilliard died 4 October 2000 in Scarborough, Ontario, at age 89.

Bio/Historical Note: Dr. Ian Douglas Sutherland was born 21 June 21 1939 in Lethbridge, Alberta. Following his father he went to work for Canada Trust, which took him to London, Ontario then Regina. Ian then became a health care administrator for nearly thirty years and in 1982 his career brought the family to Saskatoon, where he worked at Royal University Hospital before joining the Department of Health. During this period he ably chaired the SAHO Employee Benefits Committee for twenty years. While serving as a senior administrator at the hospital he took evening classes at the College of Commerce and received his MBA at age 58. A special highlight of this course was a project in Ukraine while balancing studies and full-time work. Four days before his unexpected passing, his service to the community was acknowledged by the province with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal. Ian Sutherland died 28 March 2023 [in Saskatoon].

Bio/Historical Note: Ian Bickle was born 31 March 1931 in The Pas, Manitoba, He attended university at Western in London, Ontario, then moved to Saskatoon in the mid 1950s to begin a career in TV with CFQC. Bickle died in Regina in 2008.

Bio/Historical Note: Dr. Ian A. Chisholm was born 17 February 1932 at Glasgow, Scotland. He had an outstanding career in medicine, practicing and teaching ophthalmology in Glasgow, Scotland and Saskatoon. He retired to Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, in 1992. Ian Chisholm died 25 September 2013.
