Murphy’s ‘Flop House’ on the Old Pole Trail

View of a stop-over or ‘flop house’ on the ‘Old Pole Trail’ (also known as the Wood Mountain Trail) which ran south of Moose Jaw to Fort Walsh and the Cypress Hills area; this stop-over was operated by a man named Murphy and was located on the shores of Old Wives Lake.

The document was produced by the Canadian Pacific Railway company’s western division and was owned by William George Wood. ‘Thank you’ is inscribed in the left had corner of the document. The document was approved by the Brotherhood of the Railway Trainmen.
