In this collection there are many photographs of the school houses, children and staff, as well as textual records detailing their construction and operation.
A schoolhouse was built in 1890 and was replaced with a larger one further to the east on the south edge of the same section. This school continued operation until it was closed in 1964 due to school consolidation. The series consists of a photo album, two accounts books (1903-1913; 1914-1944), a daily register (1914), three school board minutes books (1891; 1897-1913; 1913-1935; 1935-1963)
Three pages stapled together including a 1-page list of the 21 children between the ages of 7 and 15 in the Fair Play School District 192 in December, 1946; a 1-page list of the 14 Fair Play students in December 1957 and a 1-page hand-written summary of the 7 children registered at Fair Play school in December , 1961.
A small 20-page paperback book highly damaged and held together with masking tape. The book contains the minutes of the Fair Play SD 192 Trustee meetings from 1891 to 1897.
A 100-page Hardcover notebook containing the record of all revenue and expenditures of the Fair Play SD 192 from 1903 to 1913. Expenditures include the names of teachers and their salaries as well as the cost of coal and school supplies.
A blue 3-ring binder with 18 pages of documents and photographs created by and about Fair Play SD 192 and the children in it. Taped on the inside of the front cover is a 9-page stapled summary of the trustees, teachers and their salaries by year from 1890 to 1963.
Glenn Lynn School was the only two-room country school in the district. The series consists of a photo/text album prepared by Alma Williamson for the Indian Head Museum and the Indian Head History Book, three copies of “Glenn Lynn Heritage” by former teacher Grace Worden, copies of student registers (1911-1964) and textual items from the July 1, 2000 dedication of the cairn marking the school’s former location.
