Textual material consists of correspondence; financial records regarding the preparation of the book; research materials on the history of the diocese, the parishes, the religious orders of women and men and the Catholic organizations; notes, drafts and clippings; bibliography, final copy of manuscript, correspondence following publication. The research materials include a number photocopies made from microfilm editions of local newspapers (The Star-Phoenix and The Prairie Messenger). Included in some files are booklets and pamphlets on the history of some of the parishes and religious orders; these materials will be noted in the file list and moved to the pamphlet collection of the Anglin Collection of Canadian Catholic Church History, Shannon Library, St. Thomas More College. Photographs are color slides of parish churches in the Diocese of Saskatoon, photographed by the author 1978-1979. Audiotapes are interviews conducted by the author 1978-1981. II. This fonds consists of materials used, created, and accumulated by the Westlund and McAusland families. The majority of the material consists of financial records related to the farming operations of Arthur Westlund and Clarance McAusland near Brownlee and Melfort, Saskatchewan respectively. Although broadly speaking, the story of agriculture in Saskatchewan is well known – cyclical environmental factors, changes in product prices and markets – this fonds provides evidence of the impact of those changes on the lives of a single family, over decades. How that family interacted within the local community is also revealed in terms of how and where they spent their income. The source material, in farm account books, vendor receipts, property tax assessments, banking and investment records, income tax returns, crop insurance documentation, and other materials generated from the farming operations, provides direct evidence of farm and community in the lives of one farm family over generations. In addition to the farming records, there is a small amount of correspondence, family memorabilia, ephemera, and artifacts. The fonds includes some material related to the Saskatchewan Liberal Party as the McAuslands were members of the party for a number of years. The fonds also includes records related to the operation of the Royal Winter Snow Plow Club, of which Clarance McAusland was a member. There is also a small collection of publications which are largely related to agriculture.

This fonds contains an initial section of articles and reviews written by J.M Hayden. The remainder is correspondence, notes, drafts, and research material relating to his Doctoral thesis, "The Estates General of 1614" and his four published books: "France and the Estates General of 1614", "The Manning of the British Navy During the Seven Years War" [written by Stephen Gradish and edited by Hayden], "So Much To Do, So Little Time: The Writings of Hilda Neatby" and "Seeking A Balance: The University of Saskatchewan 1907-1982." The latter two contain the most extensive material, and are particularly relevant to the study of the University of Saskatchewan's history.

The collection includes color and black and white photographs and negatives from Wesley Aikenhead's private collection. Most of the images are of Saskatoon, Melfort and Melfort's surrounding area.

This fonds consists of correspondence, reports, articles, addresses, minutes, course material and notes relating to H.R. Baker’s career and research. There is considerable material regarding the development and delivery of extension programs and adult education in Saskatchewan. Much of the material deals rural and community planning and coping with changing social and economic conditions. This fonds is supplementary and complementary to the official records of the Extension Division.

This collection contains material used to write the anecdotal history of the University of Saskatchewan, "Inside These Greystone Walls." Included are research notes, manuscripts, and audio cassettes of interviews with faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the University of Saskatchewan. Interviews on cassette are with Pat and Ed. This fonds consists of correspondence, research notes, drafts, and manuscripts relating to King's books: "A Book of Canadian Poems;" "A Book of Essays;" "Extending the Boundaries;" "The First Fifty;" "Saskatchewan: The Making of a University;" "Saskatchewan Harvest;" and "Three Stories by Joseph Conrad." Additionally, it includes King's articles, lectures, and addresses dealing primarily with Canadian literature. There is also material related to King's other interests: the career and works of G.B. Shaw and R.A. Wilson, provincial and national library associations, and pacifism.

This fonds consists primarily of materials relating to Dr. Hasell's research, writing, and teaching. It includes Dr. Gordon Snelgrove's teaching copy of "Art Through the Ages," Ukrainian embroidery samples originally collected by the Saskatoon Arts and Crafts Society, research papers, and 1,012 slides relating to art history and furniture design.

This fonds provides only partial documentation of R. M. Ferguson's career at the University of Saskatchewan but represents a substantial portion of his academic research.

Correspondence from British emigrants describing their lives in Canada and concern over the war. The collection includes letters, photographs, negatives, manuscript drawings, maps, greeting cards, news clippings, and one small watercolor.

This fonds reflects Holmlund’s interest in the philosophy of education, his varied career at the University of Saskatchewan, and his concern for an equitable society. It is particularly valuable as a source for university history, specifically for the period of Leo Kristjanson’s tenure; and for issues surrounding health delivery, education, and the College of Medicine; the development of computer / IT services on campus; and First Nations educational opportunities. As a reflection of planning at a post-secondary U-15 institution, this fonds is particularly strong, notably for the materials surrounding the Issues and Options project.

This series contains materials created and/or acquired by Walter Murray during his tenure as President, from 1908-1937, documenting nearly three decades of the University of Saskatchewan’s history including its establishment; the faculty crisis of 1919; the development of the Colleges of Agriculture, Arts & Science, Education, Engineering; Law; Medicine, Pharmacy and the Extension Division; and the financial crisis of the Depression years.

This fonds contains the personal correspondence, office, and research files of the Murray family, including W.C. Murray (President, University of Saskatchewan), his wife Christina, and his daughters, Christina, Dr. Lucy H. Murray (Professor of English, Regina College), and Dr. Jean E. Murray.

This fonds consists of minutes and correspondence relating to several College of Arts and Science committees, the Bookstore Committee, and the Departmental Committee on Teaching History in High Schools. There are also committee minutes and proposals related to the University of Saskatchewan’s plans for Canadian centennial celebrations in 1967.
