Nom du producteur

(1925–ca.1960, 2012–2018)

Histoire administrative

Alsask Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, part of Kindersley Presbytery and containing preaching points at Alsask, Lloyd George, Sibbald (Alberta), and Highland Park (Alberta). By the 1930s, Lloyd George was no longer listed in the charge and, ca.1936, Mantario and Craiglands were added (the latter only briefly). As of 1951, Alsask was part of Alsask-Flaxcombe Pastoral Charge, alongside preaching points at Flaxcombe, Hoosier, and Marengo. (Note: Mantario had moved to Eatonia Pastoral Charge by this point.) The two charges had split and been re-established sometime in the mid-1950s. By 1962, Alsask and Flaxcombe were both part of Marengo Pastoral Charge.

On July 1, 2012, Alsask Pastoral Charge was re-established, from what had been Marengo Pastoral Charge. It was dissolved (again), January 1, 2018.

Nom du producteur

(1925–ca.1960)

Histoire administrative

Flaxcombe Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, part of Kindersley Presbytery and containing preaching points at Flaxcombe, Pinkham, Hill Sixty, and Tennyson. By 1932, the charge consisted of Flaxcombe, Pinkham and Marengo (the latter having moved from Hoosier Pastoral Charge). As of 1951, the charge had joined with Alsask Pastoral Charge to form the Alsask-Flaxcombe Pastoral Charge, with preaching points at Alsask, Flaxcombe, Hoosier, and Marengo. The two charges had split and been re-established sometime in the mid-1950s. By 1962, Alsask and Flaxcombe were both part of Marengo Pastoral Charge.

Nom du producteur

(1925–ca.1930?, ca.1959?–1976, 1983–2012)

Histoire administrative

Hoosier Pastoral Charge was formed as new United Church charge in 1925, part of Kindersley Presbytery and consisting of Marengo and Hoosier preaching points, as well as Greene (as of 1926). Sometime before 1932, Marengo and Hoosier separated, the former moving into Flaxcombe Pastoral Charge (alongside Pinkham) and the latter into Loverna Pastoral Charge (alongside Greene). By 1951, Marengo and Hoosier were part of Alsask-Flaxcombe Pastoral Charge but Marengo Pastoral Charge was re-established by 1959. As of 1962, Alsask and Flaxcombe were listed as preaching points for the charge, as was Hoosier (moved from Loverna Pastoral Charge), around 1963.

Around 1976, Marengo, Alsask and Flaxcombe (from Marengo PC) combined with Eatonia and Mantario (from Eatonia PC) to form Prairie Neighbours Pastoral Charge. The new charge lasted until January 1, 1983, when Marengo Pastoral Charge was re-established (alongside Eatonia-Mantario). Loverna was eventually listed in the charge and the point at Flaxcombe was closed in February 1988. In 2012, Marengo Pastoral Charge was dissolved, with Alsask and Loverna forming separate pastoral charges.

Nom du producteur

(1925–ca.1976, 1983–)

Histoire administrative

Eatonia Pastoral Charge was formed as new United Church charge in 1925, part of Kindersley Presbytery and consisting of Eatonia and La Porte preaching points, as well as Bailey (from 1926). As of 1951, the charge was listed under Rosetown Presbytery, with points at Eatonia, Glidden, Laporte, Mantario and Rankin. By 1962, only Eatonia and Mantario remained in the charge.

Around 1976, Eatonia and Mantario (from Eatonia PC) combined with Marengo, Alsask and Flaxcombe (from Marengo PC) to form Prairie Neighbours Pastoral Charge. The new charge lasted until January 1, 1983, when Eatonia-Mantario Pastoral Charge was established (alongside Marengo Pastoral Charge).

Historique de la conservation

Original provenance for many of the records in the fonds is unclear. Initial items were transferred to the archives between 1925 and 1986. Additions were received by Saskatchewan Conference around the early-2000s to 2018.

Classement

Original order for many of these records is unclear. Items under A.381.XV.A and A.381.XV.B were arranged and listed as local church records sometime before 1990, with further batches (under XV.SA, XV.SC and XV.SR) added in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2009, 2013 and 2018. The fonds was created in 2023, based on historical relationships between the charges, records previously listed and any new accruals.
