Head and shoulders image of Dr. Narendra N. Bakhshi, Engineering, 1963-2009. Outdoor image taken at time of presentation of an earned Doctor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering by the University of Saskatchewan.

Bio/Historical Note: Dr. Narendra Nath Bakhshi earned an MSc in Chemistry from Benares Hindu University (1948), a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech (1956), and a DSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan (1996). He was a process engineer with Hydrocarbon Research Inc. in New York City from 1956-1960, and a senior engineer with Air Products and Chemicals, Allentown, Pennsylvania / London, UK, from 1960-1963. Dr. Bakhshi joined the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan in 1963. He researched subjects such as organic chemistry, catalysis, cracking, space velocity and transesterification. In the subject of general organic chemistry, his work in biodiesel, glycerol and syngas is often linked to atmospheric pressure, combining diverse domains of study. Dr. Bakhshi became Professor Emeritus of Engineering upon retirement in 2009.
