Biographical history

Arthur Leach was Indian Head's postmaster (1906-1949) and mayor (1919). He came from the Isle of Wight at age 14 in 1888.

General note

In 1897 Arthur Leach married Edith Dixon, an English woman who had taught school in Manitoba and then came to Indian Head and worked for the Anglican Church to help settle English immigrants. They had one child - Arthur Wilfred (Wilfred) Leach, who was born September 24, 1989 (see IH History Book pp 498-499).
