Lloydminster and District Oral Histories Collection

This collection consists of oral history interviews with people of note in the Lloydminster and district area conducted or collected by the Local History Committee of the Lloydminster and District Centennial Commemorative Association, Inc. Some of the early interviews, many conducted by Marilyn Thorpe, pre-date the creation of the Association. Subjects include family histories, weddings, child rearing, community activities and events. The collection also contains photographs of a few of the people interviewed. Hodgson Brothers' Funeral Card Collection

This collection consists of 52 funeral cards from the estate of the Hodgson brothers, David and Gordon. The cards from the funerals of family and friends of the brothers, may contain birth and death dates, a listing of hymns performed at the funeral, names of pallbearers, surviving family members, and some biographical information about the deceased. It includes a substantial series of Drawings and Sketches (1955-1976); Publications, including exhibition catalogues, publicity materials, and articles featuring Rogers and other artists (1954-1988); a diverse series of personal and professional correspondence with family, friends, galleries, art dealers, artists, and others (1953-1988); corporate and personal Financial Records (1983-1987); Newspaper Clippings (1954-1987); audio-visual materials (1959-1987), and Miscellaneous personal material. Correspondence, publicity notices, invitations, and publications relating to Rogers' involvement with the Bahai faith (1969-1988) are also present.

Susan Whitney Gallery fonds

Fonds consists of files generated by Susan Whitney Gallery Ltd, a private art gallery located in Regina, Saskatchewan. These records relate to the exhibitions and selling of art by such regional artists as Joe Fafard, David Thauberger, Russ yuristy, Bill Lobchuck, Don Proch, and Tony Tascona, among others, and such folk artists as W.C. McCargar, Dmytro Stryjek, and Eva Dennis. Other Canadian and foreign artists are represented. The fonds have been organized into ten series: Art Fairs, Artist files/Artists, Date Books, Financial Records, Globe Theatre, Invitations, Personal, Photographs, Scrapbooks, and Working files/Administration. The first series, Art Fairs, is further subdivided into four subseries: General, ART/LA/Los Angeles International Art Fair, Chicago International Art Exposition, and the Chicago International New Art Forms Exposition.

The fonds also includes copies of the Saskatoon Gateway Players newletter "The Prompter," newclippings, and an electronic database containing the production's dates, titles, actors, production crew, and season board members.

Lloyd Barber fonds

Fonds consists of personal papers of Lloyd Ingram Barber who was President of the University of Regina from 1976-1990. Dating from 1955-1992, the records include general files (1959-1988), clippings, annual reports, class materials, and personal correspondence (1955-1992). Of particular interest are Dr. Barber's extensive Indian and Native files, 1965-1985. These contain conference materials, correspondence, daily journals, treaties, documents and publications, audio tapes, land claim court case files, and files relating to various Native organizations, all generated during his tenure as Indian Claims Commissioner, as well as personal files pertaining to Aboriginal affairs generally. Also noteworthy is the complete record of speeches delivered by Dr. Barber, 1961-1990, and files containing correspondence, reports, meeting materials, financial statements, and other records relating to the many directorships held by Dr. Barber, 1977-1992.

Fonds consists of personal and professional papers documenting the career of playwright and pastor Rex Deverell, 1956-1989. The records are arranged in the following series: Personal; Financial Records; General Correspondence; Globe Theatre; Pastoral Career/Religious Interests; Plays by Rex Deverell; Plays by Others; Professional Activities and Interests; Professional Associations; Publications; Writings by Rex Deverell; Writings by Others; and Tapes. The bulk of the fonds consists of background material, correspondence, notes, reviews, scripts, drafts, musical scores, songs, programs, audio tapes, photographs, printed copies, and other records relating to the writing and production of Deverell's many stage plays and TV/film plays, as well as his articles, early writings, poetry, radio commentaries, and short stories. Also of interest are the General Correspondence series which includes correspondence with several writers and theatre companies; the Globe Theatre files; the Pastoral Career/Religious Interests series which contains general files, sermons and notes, and other records relating to Deverell's pastoral life; and the Professional Activities and Interests and Professional Associations series which include records pertaining to the many conferences, workshops, and organizations with which he was involved. Fonds consists of the personal papers of educator Joseph Duffy, and has been arranged to reflect the diversity of the creator's interests. His concerns for the use (and misuse) of the English language, as well as for educational theory, are manifest in the EDUCATIONAL/INSTRUCTIONAL THEORY section. Also included in the section, and in the PUBLICATIONS section, are files relating to his work on the Department of Education's Division IV English Curriculum Committee. Joseph Duffy's active participation in professional organizations concerned about the state of the English Teaching profession is evident in the PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS category. Various PUBLICATIONS, and files relating to SECONDARY EDUCATION at Marian High School, have received their own sections.
