Saskatchewan Older Boys' Parliament fonds

The fonds consists of publications and other records relating to the Older Boys' Parliament, which would later be known as the Saskatchewan Youth Parliament (after 1972). Contents include: photographs (1945-1948), newspaper clippings and proclamations; records and legislation (1923-1964); and copies of "The Parliamentarian" (1961-1964), the journal of Saskatchewan Tuxis and Older Boys' Parliament.

The collection consists primarily of documents relating to the histories of various local churches in Saskatchewan. Contents include written historical narratives (sketches) and notes, newspaper articles, pamphlets, and publications. There are also copies of volumes 1 and 2 of the local history book "Early History of Saskatchewan Churches (Grass Roots)", compiled and edited by Meredith B. Banting, ca.1975.

The fonds consists of records created by the Saskatchewan Branch of the WMS, its members, treasurers, circles and committee(s).

Contents include: meeting minutes (1926-1962); bylaws and resolutions; annual reports; membership records; financial records; School for Leaders minutes and associated documents; Baby Band conference and presbyterial reports; select publications; scrapbooks; and WMS conference and presbyterial histories (to 1961). Additional historical materials included the fonds were collected by Mrs. Mary McKechnie, first president of the Qu’Appelle Presbyterian WMS and later of the Saskatchewan Conference WMS. There is also a daily register of pupils from Round Lake Indian School (1942-1946).

Contents include: general correspondence (1956-1957, 1961-1971); Committee on Rural Evangelism documents (1960); a copy of “Vox” (published by United College, Winnipeg) from 1940; and correspondence of Grace Lane, pertaining to the publication “Fifty Years in Union” (1973-1974).

Series contains minutes, reports, correspondence, pamphlets, curriculum materials, publications and other records relating to the work of the Board of Christian Education and its associated Committees. Contents include files regarding: the Board of Christian Education (including Adults, Senior Adults, Children and Youth sections); training events for boys, the Canadian Girls in Training (C.G.I.T.), Young Peoples' Union (Y.P.U.), Kairos and Hi-C groups, as well as United Church Women (U.C.W.) and lay ministers.
