Saskatoon Grace Pastoral Charge was formed 1925, as part of Saskatoon Presbytery and consisting of Grace United Church. Around 1968, Grace United amalgamated with Westminster United Church, to form Grace-Westminster United Church (and Pastoral Charge), in Saskatoon.

Saskatoon Westminster Pastoral Charge was formed 1925, as part of Saskatoon Presbytery and consisting of Westminster United Church. Around 1968, Westminster United amalgamated with Grace United Church, to form Grace-Westminster United Church (and Pastoral Charge), in Saskatoon.

Custodial history

Original provenance for many of the records in the fonds is unclear. Initial items were transferred to the archives between 1925 and 1986. Additions were received by Saskatchewan Conference archives in 2004 and 2009.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of textual materials generated by Saskatoon Grace Pastoral Charge, Westminster Pastoral Charge, Grace-Westminster Pastoral Charge and constituent churches – boards, committees and related bodies, local women’s units and other groups.

Contents include: minutes of Official Board, congregation, sessions and stewards’ meetings; records of choir, Sunday School, and local Women’s Missionary Society (W.M.S.), Woman’s Association (W.A.), United Church Women (U.C.W.), A.O.T.S., and Young Peoples’ Union (Y.P.U.) groups; membership and historic rolls; reports and financial records; and registers of baptisms, marriages and burials that took place at Grace, Westminster, Grace-Westminster, in Saskatoon, as well as Nutana, Dundurn, Floral, Whitecap (Moose Woods) and related locations.

Original order for many of these records is unclear. Items under A.381.XV were arranged and listed as local church records sometime before 1990 and those under A.923.XV.SA and A.1094.XV.SC were added between 2004 and 2009. The fonds was created in 2021, to include records previously listed and any new accruals.
