Wilson Family fonds

This fonds contains the autobiographies of Tony Wilson and his brother, Walter Wilson. Both accounts recall life on a homestead near Bengough, Saskatchewan just after the turn of the century, as well as their terms of service during World War II. The autobiography by Tony Wilson includes several copies of family photographs.

The fonds contains scanned copies of black and white photographs from Mary Walcer's private collection. The original photographs date from 1917 to the 1930's. They were scanned at 300 dpi with 16 million colors. The images are of the Maryville S.D #2790 and the Maryville district near Gronlid, Saskatchewan.

St. Thomas More College fonds

This fonds includes material related to the pre-history of the college, and in particular the activities of the Newman Society, which was formed by a group of Catholic laymen, with its major work to be the establishment of a Catholic college at the University of Saskatchewan. Other records are: minutes, reports and correspondence of the Principals/Presidents, the Corporation, the Faculty/Administration Forum, and the student organizations: Newman Club/Centre and St. Thomas More Students Association. Some of the records, including photocopies of relevant documents from other archives, were acquired by then college archivist Fr. Alphonse de Valk during the late 1960s and early 1970s. In cases where de Valk is clearly the compiler, it has been so noted in the file list. Photographs consist of views of the white house (original and expanded), the construction of the stone building in its three phases (1953-1969), interiors, student activities and special events in the college over the years. In most cases the creators of the photographs are unknown.

This collection consists primarily of photocopies of correspondence, articles, photographs, sessional papers, and press clippings, related to William Henry Jackson (or Honore Jaxon, as he is also known) including copies of his correspondence. The originals of much of the material dates from 1885. The material is organized and recorded according to the structure that Griffen and Greenland have devised.

Athol Murray fonds

This fonds consists of records of Father James Athol Murray from 1918 but particularly from his time at the Notre Dame College from 1927 to his death in1975. Father Murray's interests were intricately involved with his role as College administrator and teacher and as a result there is not always a clear distinction between his personal records and records of the college. This fonds contains: photographs of Athol Murray and albums he compiled, many related to school events as well Canadian and international events; textual records consisting of extensive correspondence with international figures, including Canadian Prime Ministers Sir Wilfred Laurier, Louis St. Laurent, Mackenzie King, Lester Pearson, John Diefenbaker and Pierre Trudeau, as well as Notre Dame students and alumni; newspaper clippings; and publications prepared by Athol Murray. The videos and sound recordings document Father Murray's speeches and interviews on such topics as sports, education, politics and religion. This fonds is divided into four accessions. The first consists of the departmental correspondence and reports. The majority of this accession deals with the organization and production of Summer Tours to small centres in Saskatchewan and Manitoba (1948-1950). The second accession includes a calender of performances (1946-1969), scripts and prompt books. The third accession includes class lists, lecture notes, annual reports (1955-1975), Greystone Theatre records and files relating to Drama Department productions (1947-1971). Production files contain programs, photos, reviews, box office receipts, correspondence, cast lists etc. The fourth accession contains lecture notes, essays, and writings of Emrys Jones, the first head of the department.
